New Year’s

by christyfg

For New Years we went to Atlanta. Jenny, Kevin, Maddy and Scott were there from Germany and Jacob was home from BYU. We ate a lot of good food. On New Year’s Eve we loaded up all the babies and went to hike Stone Mountain. It was lots of fun. I took a tram ride back down with the kids and Jacob. It was fun. The best part was Maddy telling Jacob and Tanner that she “is the princess”. Jenny, Maddy and I went to get pedicures one afternoon and I went back to treat myself to a manicure. As soon as we got there we showed Hal and Maddy the Frost tradition of following a string to get your presents. Grandma and Grandpa spoiled everyone. Hal got more train tracks, a race track a book called “Where’s the poop?” and Hot Wheels. Tate got clothes, links, a book called “Too Purpley”. Reza and I each got money and other things like socks, scarfs and gift cards. Jenny and Kevin brought us lots of German chocolate and one of those candle spinny things.

Christmas

by christyfg

We spent Christmas here at our new home. Romina came back to celebrate with us. We love having Grandma around. Hal had been asking for a trash truck for several months and Santa came through! He also got the requested dark blue slippers and a play kitchen. Tate got shoes, a book and I don’t remember what else. She’s a baby. Grandma bought the kitchen as well as sweet cowboy boots for Hal and pretty shoes for Tate. And a necklace for me that says Hal, Tate and our anniversary date. Reza got me a beautiful artist signed, limited edition photograph of the flowers of Ohio Stadium. I can’t wait to frame it and hang it in our newly updated den/office. It also snowed on Christmas! Hal loved it. Oh and Reza got Star Wars legos and Hal loved building them. It was a dream come true for Reza.DSC_8445 DSC_8447 DSC_8450 DSC_8453 DSC_8466 DSC_8483 DSC_8499 DSC_8552 DSC_8560 DSC_8571 DSC_8578Also, sorry the pictures are dark.

We went to Bass Pro Shops to visit Santa. Hal is not impressed. Christmas seemed to sneak up on my this year. We I lots of plans of things to do, but not much did. We had the biggest tree ever which was great, and we enjoyed being in our house. Tate started to crawl a week or so before Christmas (at 6 months!). Hal loves Tate and wants to play with her, hold her and help her. He tells me how much he loves Tate and he often calls her Tatie. It is awesome. (Also, why does Hal want to pick his nose in every picture?) And Romina bough as an IPad for Christmas. Hal thinks it’s his.

Thanksgiving

by christyfg

Romina and Farrah came to join us for Thanksgiving this year. The highlight of the meal was the smoked Turkey we bought from Rudy’s BBQ. Oh and Reza had  a nose job to fix his sinuses and other stuff so he can breathe again. He is mad he didn’t do it earlier.DSC_8324 DSC_8298 DSC_8281 DSC_8277 DSC_8272 DSC_8267 DSC_8264 DSC_8240

You decide

Reza

Okay so who do our babies look like? I would say people tend to say they look like Reza but I think they just are biased by the dark hair or something. I go back and forth.

Hanging Out

by christyfg

November has been pretty laid back. Hal and Tate are “playing”  more together. Sometimes I hear Hal say things like “Let’s play blocks Baby Tate”. Blocks are fun!” or “Here Baby Tate” he does a pretty good job sharing, and I love it when I see him give her a kiss. Tate is a bit of a screamer (like in the I have something to say kind of way) and sometimes I go “whoa whoa whoa Baby Tate”. Hal totally said that to her the other day. It was great.

Halloween

by christyfg

Hal picked out our costumes for Halloween a few months ago. We were all characters from the show Yo Gabba Gabba! Hal wanted to be Brobee, Tate to be Foofa, Dad to be DJ Lance Rock and me to be Plex. I got my craft and sew on and I think we look pretty darn cute. We crashed our old ward’s Trunk or Treat, went to our ward’s informal Trunk or Treat and trick-or treated around our neighborhood. Hal was begging me to take him home after about 10 houses and he was in bed before 8 pm. We finished up the rest of the candy today. Hal may not have had soda ever in his life, but he does eat candy for before breakfast regularly.

Pattern Testing

by christyfg

So a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to test the Big Bow Dress pattern for Miranda of One Little Minute. Miranda and I actually were in the same ward my sophomore of college, but I was pretty shy so we weren’t friends. She is also best friends with Sheryl, who was in that same ward, we were in the MTC at the same time, both worked EFY and lived in DC at the same time. Miranda actually lives in Alexandria, VA so she was close. I think I started following her blog via Sheryl and loved what I saw. When Cafe Rio opened in the DC area I saw her there once and awkwardly said hi, now thanks to commenting on her blog and Instagram I feel like we have more of a (virtual) friendship. I just wish we coulda hung out in DC, I know my Hal would love her boys! It was super fun to be a pattern tester, I felt like so “in the know”. I tested the 6-12 month size, and found it pretty easy to put together. I work better visually, so the diagrams helped and so did some background knowledge of how to read patterns, put in zippers etc. Tate was 4.5 months old at the time and the dress fit her just right if not a little small. But I suspect the sizing is more on for the bigger sizes. I know I will use and customize the pattern for years to come! (She has already worn it to a wedding!)

Baby Tate

by christyfg

I am fairly certain that Hal thinks her name is actually “Baby Tate”. She is 5 months now and really showing us her personality. First and for most she is happy and smiley. Everyone at church tells us they have never seen such a happy baby. And she really is as long as she is fed, changed and being entertained. She loves her brother Hal and wants to be playing with him and interacting with him all the time. It melts my heart. Hal loves her too. I also realized that I used to take pictures of Hal just cause I liked his outfit and I have been terrible at doing that with Tate. She has already outgrown some of my favorite things for her to wear. Oh well.
